Project 2020- A Social Project in Cambodia

In support of Cambodian Community Dream Organization (CCDO), our principal Bernard Ng together with a group of other architects from Singapore each designed, funded and helped build their respectively assigned family latrine for 20 families in Village Bustatrav, SvayChek Commune, Angkor Thom District, Siem Reap, Cambodia, joined also by some friends both within and outside of the construction industry, as well as architectural students from the National University of Singapore.

It was a meaningful couple of days to appreciate and reflect on the much more challenging life conditions outside of the ones we live under in Singapore, and to be able to do a small part to hopefully be able to make the lives of these villagers a little better. We had the help of CCDO, and students from Angkor University and the American University of Phnom Penh, without whom we wouldn’t have been able to complete the work on site over a hectic but fun weekend. Not forgetting the joy of re-connecting with old friends from the architectural school and profession, as well as the many new friendships made.
