House at Jln Sentosa, Singapore
As key features of the reconstruction brief, the owner requested for the addition of a pool and parking space for 4 cars. With the aid of computer graphics, we `stripped down’ the very busy architectural features of the existing house and carefully studied its structure. Thereafter, we sensitively inserted a complementary set of new structures that would also counteract the structural forces of the new pool and the huge cantilever of the new car porch roof. Despite retaining most of the structure of the existing house, the scheme totally transformed its outlook and spatial experience.
