Formal DisplayThis very important piece of furniture was designed to address and terminate the main axis in a Formal Dining Room, displaying an exquisite collection of wares that the family had amassed over the years.
The top display portion was to be highly transparent, while the storage base very solid. Besides resolving the structural challenges of designing the huge top display unit in a highly minimal, elegant and transparent manner, we also ensured that the coming together of the various members of the furniture was respectfully expressed wherever they occur. Four materials-timber, glass, stainless steel and stone-were used.
